RCC Fire Technology
and Law Enforcement Courses

Riverside Community College District is a training partner with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, Riverside County Fire Department/California Department of Forestry and the California Highway Patrol. Students who enroll in courses, that list RCC and one of the above agencies as presenters will be awarded college credit(s) for participation in the class.

It is the policy of the Riverside Community College District that, unless specifically exempted by statute, every course, course section or class, the average daily attendance of which is to be reported for state aid, wherever offered and maintained by the district, shall be fully open to enrollment and participation by any person who has been admitted to the college and who meets such prerequisites as may be established pursuant to Title V of the California Administrative Code.

  1. Payment in full for Fire Technology Courses is due at the time of registration. No partial payments or deposits can be accepted. The Riverside County Fire Training Officer's Association will pay RCC enrollment fees and California State Fire Marshal (CSFM) certification fees for students who attend these courses. Payment must be made in the form of a check or money order made out to the RCTOA; cash, purchase orders and credit cards cannot be accepted. Your course reservation cannot be guaranteed without prior payment.

    A service charge of $25.00 will be applied for cancellations. There will be no refunds for registration cancellations made within 72 hours of the course.

  2. Payment in full for Law Enforcement Courses is due at the time of registration for RCCD courses only. No partial payments or deposits can be accepted. Payment must be made in the form of a check or money order made out to the RCCD; cash will not be accepted.

  3. The registration deadline for all classes will be 30 days prior to the course start date. At the door registrations and adds will be accepted on a first come-first served basis, depending on seat availability.

  4. Any qualified individual may be substituted for a registered student with the registrant's written approval.

  5. Currently, the California State Chancellor's office sets tuition fees for all community college courses. As of July 1, 2004 the current fees are $26.00 per unit.

  6. Most courses offered at CTC have prerequisites or limitations on enrollments. Please contact the program coordinator or RCC before attending a course if you are unsure whether or not you have satisfied this requirement. Persons who enroll in a course and have not met the prerequisites may not receive credit for the class and will be asked to leave.

  7. RCCD co-sponsors many courses with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. In such cases, please follow the registration policies described in the Riverside County Sheriff's Department section.

  8. RCCD does not establish the fee structure for courses which are offered by its training partners at CTC, where RCCD is the co-sponsor. In these cases, students pay the individual agency, and RCCD is reimbursed by the agency.

  9. Tuition and school fees are subject to change.
